Microsoft today announced that Microsoft Windows 7 will ship with DirectX 11, Just a few days ago Ben Basaric, Product Marketing Manager for Microsoft Windows made a very vauge statement regarding Windows 7 and DirectX 1, this statement wasn’t set in stone but heavily hinted towards DirectX 11 coming at a later date & that Windows 7 would not Ship with DirectX 11. The latest statement made by Ben Basaric has now confirmed 100% that Windows 7 will ship with DirectX 11.
Windows vista users will not be left out either:
“DX11 will also come for Windows Vista although Microsoft wouldn’t confirm, if this will coincide with the release of Service Pack 2 for Vista.”
This is great news for those who are happy using Vista and don’t wish to upgrade just yet. Windows Vista promised DirectX 10 out of the box and that didn’t happen, So i am quite sure Microsoft will want to make up for that and stick to their word this time around. Windows 7 is sounding better and better every day.
